Kemah Police Launch ‘Operation Kemah Cares’ to Support Central Texas Flood Victims
KEMAH, TX — In a heartfelt show of solidarity, the Kemah Police Department has initiated “Operation Kemah Cares,” a community-driven relief campaign aimed at helping families devastated by the recent flooding across Central Texas.
The department will be collecting donations at its headquarters on Monday and Tuesday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents are encouraged to contribute essential items to assist those who have lost homes and belongings due to the disaster.
To ensure timely delivery of the donated goods, Frisard Trucking, a Louisiana-based transport company, is partnering with the department to provide a tractor trailer for moving supplies directly to the affected areas.
What to Donate
While a comprehensive needs list is being finalized, officials are currently requesting:

Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, deodorant, etc.)

Clothing for all ages
“These families are starting from scratch,” a department spokesperson noted. “We’re counting on the generosity of our community to help them rebuild.”

For those unable to donate items in person, monetary contributions are also being accepted. The police department has partnered with the Relentless Defender Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports both disaster victims and first responders.
Funds raised will be used to purchase critical resources, including shelter materials, food, clean water, and medical supplies. A portion will also support emergency personnel engaged in ongoing rescue and recovery efforts.
